Antibiotic reduction in livestock production is both a societal and scientific demand in 2018. Kirwan, S., Smeets, N. and Van Hamme, V. at Kemin are talking about the present study, which aimed to test the hypothesis that a specific strain of Bacillus subtilis (PB6) has the potential to reduce therapeutic antibiotic use in commercial poultry farming. This trial confirms the hypothesis that addition of a B. subtilis PB6 active microbial has a direct effect on antibiotic usage.
