Hydrotherapy pool and heated water treadmill are among star attractions unveiled at Worcestershire clinic’s new facility to help sick and recovering pets.
Clent Hills Veterinary Group in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, has splashed out on a new pet fitness and rehabilitation centre that harnesses the power of hydrotherapy to aid sick and recovering pets.
More than 50 guests attended a “Pimm’s and Prosecco” opening event, featuring a series of live demonstrations that included dogs swimming in a hydrotherapy pool with hydrotherapists Harriet Lowe and Debbie Rice, and a heated water treadmill with physiotherapist Laura Cockram.
Meanwhile, vet Laura Buckey and physiotherapist Emily Ashdown demonstrated acupuncture and physiotherapy techniques.
State-of-the-art facilities
Clent Hills joined forces with Bromsgrove Canine Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy Services to develop the new centre.
State-of-the-art facilities and equipment include:
- a heated, above ground hydrotherapy pool with adjustable water jets
- an extended water treadmill with 360° viewing to offer an airy feel for pets
- a pet shower and dryer
- laser and electrotherapy machines
Treatments
The combination of treatments available are designed to help improve pets’ mobility, fitness, physique and water confidence, as well as rehabilitation post-surgery, injury or illness.
Clent Hills said the combination of physiotherapy, in conjunction with hydrotherapy, helps treat common conditions such as arthritis, muscle and ligament strains, fractures, neurological conditions and joint dysfunction.
