WHO put antimicrobial resistance (AMR) top of the list where it comes to threats to public health. While antibiotic consumption is not restricted to humans only but also be applied widely in animals, veterinarians, who want to be part of a solution, rather than a problem, take action in combatting AMR. It seems that at the moment Europe takes the lead in adopting measures that should lead to responsible use of antibiotics in animals and thus lower levels of AMR. Can the European model be an example for America, Australia and Asia? And what can be or should be the role of partners of the veterinarians, like the animal health industry?
