Globally developed countries are implementing strategies focused on improving oversight and use of medically important antimicrobials (MIA) in veterinary medicine. Canada is no exception. Jean Szkotnicki of CAHI outlines the collaborative approach taken in Canada to managing oversight and controls of MIA veterinary drugs, including actions CAHI and others have taken in implementing a strategy for the responsible use of veterinary antimicrobials as per the Framework and Action Plan.
